A redesign of Farrago magazine, the University of Melbourne’s flagship student publication. As Design Editor at Farrago in 2022, I was well-accustomed to the magazine’s ambitious, forward-thinking ethos, but also aware of the drawbacks of having limited page space to present content. This rebrand envisions Farrago as a commercial publication marketed to young adults just starting out in their careers, who have not yet lost touch with the big ideas and rebellious culture of campus. The cover artwork features a collage made up of images from the Farrago archives, referencing the magazine’s 97-year-long history covering protests, controversies and student life at the University of Melbourne.
